John 15:11 says, “These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

We live in a world ruled by the majority and we are, therefore, compelled to follow it. We cry when we see people crying even though we are not sad. We even shout when we are not excited. When the pastor says, ‘Rise up for prayer’, we pray even though we don’t have faith. You won’t meet Jesus when you imitate others, because faith is not imitation. If you continue to look outside for miracles, you will never find it, because faith is within; it is of the heart.

Prayer is the shortest route between the heart and God. A believer’s heart is the prayer room—the contact point for the Holy Spirit. This heart can also be a contact point for evil spirits if it is disturbed, anxious or full of offence. What we nurse in our hearts happens in time. This is the reason why you find yourself in the failure realm, even though you did not confess failure. Satan wants you to be sad because it gives him free entrance into your heart. You are often looking and never finding, asking but not receiving answers, knocking but the door is not opened because you have not discovered God’s presence within you. God can only enter your heart when you have joy.

Are you a believer? There may be a reason to be worried or afraid but there is a greater reason not to be. That reason is not far from you or beyond your reach, because what you are looking for you have already. That knowledge alone brings joy—that joy is the path to God.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, restore that which is missing to make my joy complete—that awareness that Heaven is with me, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
