Matthew 4:3–4 says, “Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”

Just as Jesus responded to satan with God’s Word, so should you respond to your situation. I mean, the answer to whatever situation you are passing through is in God’s Word—His special gift to humankind. When Jesus was tempted, He did not fall into self-pity; instead, He quoted God’s Word, the eternal Word. As a Christian, your answer to everything is in the Holy Bible. God’s Word must not only be committed to memory but must also become an integral part of us.

The Bible can become an integral part of us only when we devote ample time to studying it. When you study God’s Word, you must be carried along by the Holy Spirit. When we are carried along by the Holy Spirit, then we receive answers. Are you sick? Are you worried? The answer is in God’s Word. When you know the answer is in God’s Word, you will talk Scriptures in every situation. Holy men were carried along by the Holy Spirit as they spoke God’s Word.. So, when you quote the Bible, you are quoting the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we must learn to quote Scriptures in every situation or circumstance in which we find ourselves. We must speak God’s Word over everything because God’s Word is our weapon.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to make your Word an integral part of me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen!
