The Book of Matthew 7:7–8 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.”
This is Christ’s encouragement to pray and His assurance that your prayers will be answered. What an encouragement that God listens to you when you pray and a confidence that He is working out the answer. If you know that God listens to you when you pray, then your prayer must be followed by an attitude of faith—an attitude of absolute trust in God that He is working out the answer.
Faith is expecting God to do what He promised. He promised to fill you with His strength and power, to give you a new life and future, to heal you of your infirmities and diseases, and to bless you beyond measure. So, do not doubt your faith but instead doubt your doubts, for they are unreliable. Whatever news comes to you about your business, health, family, or career, do not be afraid because, beyond that unpleasant situation, beyond that hardship, and beyond what you are going through, there is the solution—Jesus Christ. Look to Him!
Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit, help me to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, to focus on Him and Him alone, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
