LAGOS, NIGERIA — On the 26th of September, 2025, the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) came alive with color, purpose, and divine strength as women from all walks of life gathered for the second edition of the Women of Grace General Meeting.

With the powerful theme “Rooted in Faith”, this year’s gathering was more than an event it was a call to deeper purpose, community, and spiritual empowerment.

Led by the ever-inspiring Pastor Mrs. Evelyn T.B. Joshua, this edition built on the foundation of the maiden gathering in 2024, which saw nine women empowered to start their own journeys of transformation.

One year later, the seeds planted have grown, and the Women of Grace movement continues to flourish, reaching wider communities and deeper hearts.

Pre-Event Activities: Wellness, Wisdom, and Outreach

In the weeks leading up to the main event, Women of Grace members participated in a comprehensive wellness programme, focusing on physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual readiness. Topics included:

These sessions provided practical, life-saving knowledge, reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to holistic empowerment.

As part of their community outreach, Women of Grace members visited the Multibeniose Elderly Care Home, delivering food, clothing, and a generous ₦1.5 million donation. The visit, marked by joyful songs, prayer, and heartfelt interactions, underscored the ministry’s mission to serve the overlooked and vulnerable.

“We’re not just called to gather—we’re called to go, give, and grace the lives of others,” said one volunteer.

Adding a joyful and energetic dimension to the meeting, attendees participated in a friendly sports competition between Team Strength and Team Dignity—teams inspired by Pastor Evelyn Joshua. From handball to football, the activities built bonds of unity, resilience, and laughter.

“It wasn’t about winning—it was about reminding ourselves that we are stronger together,” said a participant.

Empowering Through Education: Rooted in Faith Key Sessions

Agriculture and Self-Reliance: “Get Busy”

In a powerful session, women were urged to embrace farming to support their families and enhance community food security.

Attendees were taught simple gardening techniques they could apply at home promoting sustainability and boosting financial independence.

Breaking the Silence: Tackling Gender-Based Violence

A courageous session addressed the harsh realities of gender-based and domestic violence. Through expert facilitation, women were equipped to:

“This session broke the silence and began the healing. Women left knowing they are not alone,” said a facilitator.

The general meeting also included a Bible quiz and drama presentation, both drawing enthusiastic participation. The drama depicted a woman overcoming trials through faith and sisterhood, powerfully capturing the “Rooted in Faith” theme.

Rooted in Faith: A Movement Gaining Momentum

The 2024 maiden edition laid the foundation, but the 2025 meeting has deepened the roots and expanded the reach. With each testimony and act of service, Women of Grace is proving to be a transformative force in the SCOAN community and beyond.

“I came empty, but I’m leaving filled with knowledge, courage, and a sisterhood I never knew I needed,” shared one attendee.

As the movement grows, so does its impact rooted firmly in faith, driven by purpose, and powered by grace.
