Jesus was not the kind of person to be led by others. He did not labour to appear truthful; He simply was a man of truth. He said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). And it is the truth of His life and message that has saved us today. We are living in a world surrounded by lies. No one has to teach us to lie because by nature, man is rebellious. If you tell lies, you are speaking your father’s language for satan is the author of lies (John 8:44). Truth becomes our protection against the lies of the adversary. But if you do not take time to find out the truth, you shall never come to the knowledge of the truth. The Holy Spirit is true for He is the Spirit of truth. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart to see yourself in the truth of God’s Word. “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever” (Psalm 119:160). If you are pretending today, you cannot pretend forever; if you are lying today, you cannot lie forever. The only thing that will last forever is the truth of God’s Word. If lying goes on for 100 years, truth one day will reach it (Psalm 94:15). So decide today to say no to lies and be on the winning side. As truth was older than terror, so it will survive it. It got the start and it will get the race.
