When we learn the purpose God has made us for and how He cherishes our company, life becomes extremely meaningful and completely enjoyable. How clearly do you really see your life? What does Jesus see? God clearly sees the real you, the healthy you, the prosperous you, the you of your dreams. However, what many experience today is not their real value. The cost of obedience is nothing compared to the cost of disobedience but it is not too late for you to begin to believe and obey God’s Word.
Hebrews 5:8-9 tells us that Jesus Christ learnt obedience through the things He suffered. He passed through a season of pain in order to create a season of gain. Because Christ decided to learn obedience by the things He suffered, God refined Him through His afflictions. The way a Christian’s character grows through obedience is by facing difficulties and dealing with problems. For gold to prove itself, it must pass through fire. The more fire gold receives, the better or more valuable it becomes. You are Christ’s gold. As Christ’s gold, you must be melted, remoulded and filled before you can be used for every purpose of God. What stage of refinement are you at? If you have been melted, you still need to be remoulded. If you have been remoulded, you still have to be filled before you can be used. It is a builder, a refiner of character. It is meant for your obedience.
If you know you are Christ’s gold, make this your declaration of faith: “My situation is a refiner of character. It is removing the impurity of hatred/unfaithfulness/anger from the character of God in my life. I have learnt obedience, love, peace, patience, humility, forgiveness and self-control through the things I have suffered. My character is growing because I am being refined.”
