Christianity today seems to be of human wisdom. There seems to be no difference between Christianity and religion. However, the Bible makes us understand that Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. Jesus came to restore the relationship and fellowship between God and man.

Christianity lies in the heart. It is all about the Word of God in our heart but today Christianity has become the Word of God in our mouth. People simply declare, “I am a Christian,” but the question is, “Are you such in heart?” The fact that you carry a Bible and a big cross does not necessarily mean you are a Christian. Are you a Christian in heart? It is not enough to profess Christianity but we must run the race well by living up to that profession.

The Bible says in Matthew 15:8, “These people honour me with their lips but their heart is far from me.” Anyone can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but not everyone can confess Jesus is the Lord with all their heart. That is why satan keeps dislodging and displacing many, because they are not where God wants them to be. Your heart should be where God wants it to be.

In 1 Chronicles 28:9, the Bible says the Lord searches the heart and knows the thoughts of man. As Christians we will face challenges; when they come, we should consider them pure. Today, many see their trials as sorrowful moments because they only profess Christianity with their mouth but not in the heart. If you are truly a Christian, your challenges are to strengthen your desire and determination for God. Your challenges are to improve you, not to impair you. No one can say Jesus is Lord without the Word of God in their heart. You need the Word of God in your heart to contact Jesus.

In this season make sure you work on your spiritual life. Make sure your heart is at its best for God, because the Spirit of the Father expresses Himself through our heart. Your heart cannot be at its best for God without your being spiritual. Henceforth, let God’s Word be the foundation of all that you do, because Christ and His Word are one. Ask Jesus Christ to come and make His home in you. Amen!
