A secret no one knew was revealed by a man he never met – bringing freedom to an addiction that lingered for 25 years and exposing the dangers of making deals with the devil…
Mr Mfanfikile was brought up from a family of ‘sangomas’ (witchdoctors). At a tender age, incisions were placed throughout his body for ‘protection’ and he regularly witnessed the initiation of others into ‘traditional healing’ by his grandmother who was a grandmaster in darkness. Aged 15, the young man delved into drugs. His addiction gradually worsened to the point he took countless ‘joints’ of marijuana on a daily basis, alongside cigarettes, cocaine and alcohol. Mfanfikile gained the reputation of a ‘hard guy’ as drug-induced violence became an unfortunate logo, people in his community even running away whenever he approached.
Drug addiction rippled into drug trafficking, as the young man began cultivating and subsequently smuggling marijuana internationally. A witchdoctor even gave Mfanfikile a small stick as part of a ritual, promising that the stick would ensure the drugs he transported would arrive safely without being caught by authorities. However, the money gained from this ‘business’ disappeared as quickly as it came. Family crises, marked by violent disagreements and marital woes, only seemed to worsen. A friend at work introduced Mfanfikile to Emmanuel TV. Cynicism soon gave way to wonder as he saw cases similar to his own remarkably change through the intervention of God. Resolve was set.
